Why is My Blog Getting Redirected to a Country-Specific URL?

Google has finally rolled out country-specific URL redirection for all the blogspot blogs other US.
For example, if you visit googleblog.blogspot.com from India, you’ll be redirected to googleblog.blogspot.in and the same applies for rest of the countries.
Why Blogspot.com blogs are being redirected to blogspot.in?
As per Blogger’s help page, the servers detect your IP address and redirects the blogspot blog to your country-code or top-level domain or ccTLD. Noting that, blogspot owners will not see any visible changes except URL redirection to country-specific TLDs.
Exception: Custom domains in Blogger.com won’t be affected with this change.
Reason behind blogspot blogs redirecting to country-specific TLDs?
Migrating to localized domains will allow Google to continue promoting free expression and responsible publishing while providing greater flexibility in complying with valid removal requests pursuant to local law. By utilizing ccTLDs, duplicate content removals can be managed on a per country basis, which will limit their impact to the smallest number of readers. Content removed due to a specific country’s law will only be removed from the relevant ccTLD.
Does ccTLDs affect SEO of my blogspot blogs?
Its absolutely a myth and there is no negative affect on SEO of your blogspot blogs why because Google has specified these country-specific URL versions as canonical using rel=”canonical”.
So, all these ccTLDs will not be considered as duplicate URLs in the eyes of search engines.
